Natalia & Marcos
Natalia and Marcos were sure they wanted a Castello di Celsa Wedding. But at the same time, they knew what they really wanted was a wedding that was both extremely intimate and romantic.
A Dream For Us As Well
We are sure we had seen photos of weddings at Castello di Celsa at least by 2013 – and it instantly became a priority of our Italy bucket list of venues. Maybe, even way back then, we were already dreaming of Italy more than we are willing to admit. Little did we know we would get a chance to photograph this Castello di Celsa wedding so soon after moving to Tuscany.
Castello di Celsa
Castello di Celsa is a medieval castle in Tuscany that dates back to the 13th Century. It is a wedding venue located along a secondary road of the ancient “via Francigena”, in Sovicille – which is a province of Siena. From the Castle, perched on a hilltop and surrounded by incredible vegetation, you can see as far as Monte Amiata.
Though the castle can host larger weddings of up to 180 guests in their “barn” area, it is in the courtyard and in the middle of the Italian gardens, with smaller weddings, that you really get to see this incredible view during the ceremony.
Intimately Timeless
Yet the thought of a small wedding wasn’t intimate enough for Natalia and Marcos, and they decided they really wanted time for themselves. Time to explore the castle’s grounds. Time to themselves for an incredible Italian meal and local wine, while getting to enjoy the intimacy and privacy of their special moment. So they chose to Elope. Which for us was great, because it also meant they had time to take photos all over the castle grounds.
This was perfect proof that you can definitely still have a Castle wedding in Italy, even if you decide to Elope. They got to enjoy every single aspect of what a Castello di Celsa wedding has to offer, but with all the time in the world to themselves. They finished off the night with a candlelit dinner on the garden, and an incredible view of the castle.
And we couldn’t have gotten luckier.
