Intimate Wedding in Tuscany at Castello Il Palagio

Paula & Andre’s Intimate Wedding in Tuscany at Castello Il Palagio

Paula & André knew they wanted an intimate wedding in Tuscany surrounded by their closest family and friends. But while there are many wedding venues near Florence for a small wedding, it’s hard to find a Tuscany castle wedding venue this close to Florence that is as beautiful as Castello Il Palagio.

Castello Il Palagio: The Perfect Tuscany Castle Wedding Venue

We’re a little biased, because this castle is located really close to our house in the Chianti region and we’re absolutely in love with this place. One of the reasons we chose the Chianti is that we’re constantly surrounded by the olive groves and the endless vineyards, and this castle does not disappoint. It’s a 13th century castle nestled in the rolling hills near our house, but less than 20 miles away from Florence – perfect for any Tuscany wedding.

With the breathtaking views of the Chianti, you could see the guest’s jaws drop as they arrived for Paula & André’s intimate wedding in Tuscany. The castle is hidden from the road, so as guests arrive near a medieval door, you can hear swooning as they make their way to the outside ceremony space. The garden is large enough for larger ceremonies, but seems custom made for a small wedding in Tuscany.

But it was when dinner was about to be served that you could really see everyone’s expression change. As they entered this medieval courtyard, with these long imperial tables, you could see every single guest pull out their phones to capture a little of the magic of Castello Il Palagio.

A Fairytale Destination for a Small Wedding in Tuscany

When planning to bring their guests from all over the world to this stunning part of Italy for their wedding, these two wanted to make sure their Tuscany wedding incorporated Italian traditions.

Paula wore a stunning Rosa Clara wedding dress which made her look absolutely regal. The baby’s breath floral arrangements at the ceremony framed the aisle for them and their bridal party to walk down, as well as the arch and the seats.

A Picture Perfect Postcard

Guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the castle’s intimate garden, as they caught up on everyone’s adventures in Italy after arriving for the wedding. We roamed the grounds with the bride and groom as we captured their portraits, and then made our way together to aperitivo in the most incredible tuscan light.

For dinner, they focused on foliage and candles to let the medieval courtyard and the food play the larger role, without taking away attention from those details with flowers. The band absolutely captivated everyone as they guided guests from aperitivo in the garden area to dinner at the courtyard, then outside as Paula and André embraced Italian wedding tradition and made their own Millefoglie wedding cake.

Paula & André, thank you again for letting us be part of your day. From when you started planning with Gabi Rapuano to seeing your reactions as you were sharing your Millefoglie with everyone, it was such a privilege to be part of the process with you.
