SERVICES & INVESTMENT

From intimate elopements to grand three-day celebrations, blending timeless documentary storytelling with contemporary aesthetics, we photograph weddings in Tuscany and all of Italy with an unwavering commitment to authenticity—capturing the subtlety of your day on both film and digital photography. Scroll down for information on our Tuscany wedding photographer prices & packages. For any specific requests, please reach out directly.

Drawing on nearly 15 years of experience, we create authentic, honest imagery that will stand the test of time. Our vision is guided by the historical importance of photographs over aesthetic trends, imagining generations to come reacting to these photographs.

Our commitment to artisanal tradition means Frankie & Marilia. You get us both, from the first time we sit down to speak all the way to your wedding day. We photograph, edit, and color correct every single wedding ourselves. This also means we are only able to take on a limited number of weddings a year in order to give each couple the service, attention and quality of work we would like to receive.

TIMELESS & INTENTIONAL

ON OUR APPROACH

Weddings are for celebrating love. They’re for reuniting families. They’re about dancing and eating with loved ones. They are definitely not about photographers. As we work throughout the day, our main focus is ensuring we tell the story of what is happening without taking away from real moments.

For most of the day we watch unobtrusively. During the moments we do get to spend alone with you as a couple, our goal is to capture your essence, making suggestions and slowly guiding you along the best light and background but never posing.

Using a blend of digital, medium format, and 35mm cameras, we aim to create a cohesive true-to-color body of work that will not feel dated. We strive to make our film images look even better than digital. To let you feel something from the grain and the colors – not simply to have a cool analog look.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

01.

Where are you based? Will you travel for work?

We’re based in Tuscany. Right outside Florence, on the edge of the beautiful Chianti. Leaving Tuscany behind is sad, but we will definitely not hesitate to hop on a train, get in our car, or fly out to photograph whatever you two have in mind. Be it in Italy or anywhere else in Europe.

02.

What is the booking process like and how do I secure my date?

Reach out to us with your date. We will set up a meeting online to see if we’re the ones you want next to you on your wedding day. Once we talk about a collection that suits you and your wedding, we will prepare an agreement. Once it is signed and the 30% retainer fee is paid, we’re booked and ready to go!  Payments can be arranged digitally or by international bank transfer, and we’re open to finding a payment plan that works for you. Then it’s time to rest easy and celebrate having us in your lives.

03.

How far ahead should we book you for our wedding?

We are usually booked 16-8 months in advance. Since we take on a limited number of booking a year, we recommend reaching out as soon as you have secured your venue so we can move forward with the process. Throughout the year we do have some limited availability for last-minute weddings, so please reach out about your date so we can find a way to work together.

04.

Do you shoot both film and digital?

Using a blend of digital, medium format, and 35mm cameras, we aim to create a cohesive true-to-color body of work that will not feel dated. We strive to make our film images look even better than digital, but select the best option for each moment throughout the day taking into consideration light, time and our own experience in order to create images you can feel. Our goal with film is always creating a cohesive look, to make you fall in love with the grain and the colors – but not simply to have a cool analog look.

Film coverage is highly recommended, though it is an additional to our digital work.

05.

Are you legally allowed to work in Italy? Are you insured?

Yes. We are dual Italian citizens that reside fiscally in Italy, meaning we pay a lot taxes to keep this place this beautiful for everyone to enjoy. We have a legally functioning business, our Partita IVA number is 07258710487 and we are insured to work at all venues. We have mandatory drone insurance and operating license.

06.

What is your approach to wedding photography?

We are here to tell a story of your wedding with our own vision. We document what is happening organically but point the camera at what we believe tells your story best – all while making sure your classic portraits and moments are captured the way they should, to stand the test of time.

So naturally, for most of the day we watch unobtrusively. During the moments we do get to spend alone with you as a couple, our goal is to capture your essence, slowly guiding you along the best light and background but not posing. Each couple is unique in their interaction, and we have learned to observe when to be more intrusive or candid and this is something we’ll learn as we go through this together. If you have very editorial aspirations or this is something you envision for your wedding, it’s best we discuss this before the wedding to plan time accordingly.

We like to be part of the process and make sure our expertise is considered when you and your planner are establishing a timeline for your wedding. We like to be allowed in, to get to know your families, to be close to you in order to deliver work you can feel.

07.

Do you work with a second photographer?

Frankie & Marília means Frankie & Marilia.  This means two first photographers, always. With the same experience, aligned aesthetics and technical knowledge. I mean, we’re a married couple, we do share interests.

We don’t split up for weddings. Ever. We will both be there. Depending on the size of your wedding or specific needs, we may bring additional photographers. But you get Frankie & Marilia all for you. Rejoice!

08.

Are taxes included in your Tuscany wedding photographer prices?

Yes, and at the end of your payment plan you will receive a formal tax receipt.

09.

How many photos will we receive?

It really does depend on the wedding. It depends on the size of your wedding and many activities or attractions you might have planned throughout the day. A 500-guest wedding at a large venue with many setups and an immediate family-only microwedding at a Villa are very different. We would say roughly 60-70 images per hour of coverage.

With film coverage, it depends on our choice of film for each moment and can vary greatly depending on light, timeline restrictions and other factors.

10.

When will we receive our photos? Do we get a sneak peek?

We only take on a few number of weddings each year. The reason for this is to make sure we can focus 100% of our attention on each couple. We have a “slow living” outlook on life, but our turnaround times are the same as other industry professionals. For engagement and portrait sessions, we work with 4 to 6 weeks. For weddings, our turnaround time is 8 weeks. This doesn’t mean we might not get these to you way earlier, though.

And you might say you won’t get anxious, but we know your style. You’ll get a little preview of the wedding within 5 days to share it with your loved ones – don’t worry.

11.

Can you recommend vendors and help us with our timeline?

We will share our custom wedding guide with you as soon as the booking process is finalized, where we share a vast amount of tips to make the most of our of your wedding – including planning your timeline and our list of recommended vendors.

A good wedding planner will definitely always be the best option in making any final choices, though.

12.

Do you offer videography as well?

Videography does wonders in helping tell the story of a wedding and it’s very thoroughly recommended. We love moving images and think they have something special we cannot achieve (and vice-versa). However we do not offer videography. We do have a list of great recommendations all over Italy and Europe which we are sure you are going to love.

13.

Do you offer drone photos?

We do have a drone and are legally allowed and insured to operate it in Italy. But we cannot guarantee we’ll always be able to include drone photos in your coverage. Local flight restrictions and legislation ban drone usage in many public and private spaces in Italy, so this might play a role in our ability to fly. Weather conditions are also an important factor we consider when using a drone. So yes, it’s already included in our offered coverage – but we’re not always able to fly.

14.

Do you cover all wedding sizes? Multi-day Weddings? Elopements?

We will be anywhere there if there’s a celebration of love happening. We have covered weddings from 600+ guests to the most emotional elopements and are equally happy to participate in all of them.

Our most popular package includes day-before event coverage. Most couples getting married here choose to host a welcome dinner / pizza party and it’s great that we get to spend even more time together before the actual wedding day. Everyone gets to know us in a less formal event and we feel most people are much more open for the wedding.

15.

Are your collections/packages customizable?

Yes! We know each wedding is unique. While some couples are excited about engagement photos and keepsake wedding albums, others have other needs they need to address. Contact us and we’ll work out a solution that works out perfectly for your wedding.

We offer add-on options to all our packages but can definitely create something to fit whatever you’re thinking of.

16.

Are all the photographs delivered edited?

Yes. The photos delivered on the gallery will be curated, color corrected, adjusted – and will all look beautiful. All done by hand by us two. No AI here.

17.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes! And we love photographing them. In Florence, anywhere in Tuscany – or anywhere in Italy.

Some of our wedding packages do include an engagement / portrait session as well, and they’re a great way for us to get to know each other better before the wedding and so you know what to expect when the day finally arrives.

18.

Can we meet before the wedding? Are you available to meet in person?

Absolutely. Yes! We will have an initial call when you first reach out so you can decide whether we’d be the best choice of people to point cameras at you all day. Then we’ll have another meeting a few weeks before the wedding so we can go over everything in detail. We are also definitely available to meet in person and take you for coffee or a drink somewhere we like in case you happen to be in Florence or near us in the Chianti before the wedding.

We will also give you a follow on social media and try to get to know you both a little better before the wedding so you feel confident in letting us in. This confidence in letting us be part of the process will make the images we create feel much more real and personal.

19.

Are Travel Fees Included?

Yes, for weddings in Tuscany, there are no additional travel fees. We are here already, waiting for you to arrive, sipping on espresso.

20.

How much should we budget for a wedding photographer in Tuscany?

The cost depends on your guest count, film photography coverage, and whether you need multi-day coverage for a full wedding weekend. Our photography coverage for Elopements & Microweddings in Tuscany start at €1400.

21.

Do you photograph all couples?

We feel bad people still need to ask this question. Love is love and this is the only reason why we are 100% committed to our work. We are truly honored to document weddings for all couples, regardless of cultures, ethnicities, races, sexes, gender identities and expressions, national origins, ages, languages spoken, colors, religions, disabilities, sexual orientations, and beliefs and we will stand by this with all our beings.

UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS

THE F&M EXPERIENCE

1.
Take the leap.
You fill out our contact form, and magical things start to happen. We’ll reach out with an email to better understand your needs and whether we are the right fit for you. We’ll send you a detailed guide with our wedding photography pricing in Tuscany or for your destination wedding anywhere in Italy.
You’ll schedule a call on our calendar for us to meet. If you’re in Florence or around us in Chianti, we’ll meet in person for delicious coffee. If not, we’ll talk online. We’ll open up to you. You’ll open up to us. You tell us why you chose Italy and what your expectations for your wedding are. We’ll tell you more about ourselves (like about our ridiculous love for dogs) and our work. If we think we can meet each other’s expectations, it’s a match. Heck yes. You might even get to meet our cat.
We will then ask you for some details and write up a formal agreement, then send it over to you. You’ll look it over and sign it. After our retainer fee is paid, we’re officially your photographers, and your date is saved.
2.
Trust the process.
We’ll send you our F&M Wedding Guide to help you with photography-specific (and more) parts of your wedding you should consider. We’ll be available to answer any questions you two may have regarding vendor recommendations, wedding plans and inspiration, timeline concerns or anything you feel like it’s worth sharing.
If you’re on social media, we’ll try to connect and try to follow you along this journey up until the wedding day. The only way for us to create honest and meaningful photographs of such an important day is letting us in. We’re here to tell your story, but we need to play a tiny role in this if we are to get close to where emotions happen. We need to get close to you, your family and friends at your wedding, that’s where true stories lie.

A few weeks before the wedding we’ll have a final call where we’ll go over every single detail you know (and maybe haven’t thought of) about your wedding.

3.
Soak it in.
On your wedding day we’ll observe things as candidly as possible. We will stand close to you from the moment you’re getting ready until late into the night, intervening when we are asked to or think there is potential for some creative guidance.
We can only be as authentic as you are. We know how to tell stories – but we need to have interesting stories to tell. Here is where you come in. Tell us how your personality shines through in the details you chose for your wedding. Stand close to the people that matter. Be yourselves and have fun.
We’ll send you some sneak peeks of your wedding within a few days. In 8 weeks at the most you’ll receive all your photos in an online gallery, all ready to be shared with your guests and loved ones.

We are SO grateful that we happened upon Frankie & Marilia and booked them as our photographers for our wedding. They are incredibly knowledgeable of all things wedding-related in Tuscany (which was much appreciated as foreigners), and exude such a strong passion for their craft. F&M were excellent communicators and kept us sane throughout the entire planning process and day-of events. You can tell that they deeply care about your experience, and they listened to all of our “wants” — and as such, we trusted them fully. Above all, they are just really good people with big hearts. Trust me, you won’t regret booking them. Their style is timeless, and we’re so lucky that they agreed to capture such special moments for us to keep forever.
